Give Me More Time To Fix The Country — Tinubu tells Nigerians

By Aaron Elekwachi

President Bola Tinubu, speaking through his Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, urged citizens to grant his administration additional time to tackle Nigeria's challenges. This appeal was made during the PUNCH Nigeria Limited 50th Anniversary Public Lecture at the Civic Centre in Lagos.

Acknowledging the administration's dedication to fulfilling its promises, Idris implored Nigerians to exercise patience, assuring them of imminent positive changes. He empathized with the populace's struggles and assured that significant efforts were being made to address them.

Idris addressed the nation's security concerns, admitting the ongoing insecurity while affirming the implementation of measures to address it. He also recognized the economic difficulties and underscored the administration's commitment to enhancing the citizens' quality of life.

Quoting Professor Soyinka's prudent approach to evaluating administrations after a year, Idris urged Nigerians to withhold judgment and allow time for the administration's policies to yield results.

Highlighting Tinubu's proactive measures, Idris cited actions such as subsidy removal and the implementation of the Oronsaye report aimed at improving the nation's welfare.

In conclusion, Idris reiterated Tinubu's plea for patience in the face of economic challenges, providing reassurance that brighter days lay ahead for Nigeria.
